Experience is education for millennials

“Experience, travel — these are as education in themselves.”

— Euripides.

Traveling has become a priority in the life of millennials.

Instead of viewing it from a financial standpoint, many like to think of traveling as another component to education. It is more than crossing something off of one’s bucket list, but to immerse in the culture. Traveling is more than simply posting photos on Instagram (though, don’t get me wrong, does boost profile aesthetic and gain a lot of “likes”), but experiencing newness and obtaining knowledge.

Traveling is all about being outside of your comfort zone. It is also a great — or even better form of education — because real life education and experiences are not learned inside of a building. Why do you think traveling abroad exists? Not only do you learn other languages and history, but also how to be independent and more about yourself. You realize your true potential, which is not a standard program learning objective.

We all need to travel while we’re young. Think of the breathtaking views, indulging in uncommon cuisine, and truly emerging in other experiences.
